Art Gallery, Art Center & More Art (for kids, and grown-ups!)

A popular and newer addition to town artsy resources is Creativo- Art, Music & Culture Center located on the main road in Mal Pais. At Creative, you can purchase art supplies and also sign up for classes. They offer a wide range of classes and camps (when school is out). Classes range from literacy classes, through drawing and knitting to dance and taekwondo. There is something for everybody starting as young as age 3. I also highly encourage you to follow their social media for their current schedule and offerings.

One more artsy location that should not be forgotten is Zwart Café Gallery and Restaurant. Zwart Café has been in town for many many years, and the owner of the café, Margriet Zwart has named the place after her father. You will usually find Margriet with her daughter Zaia, and a paint brush on the studio floor of her cafe creating artwork that shouts vitality and joy. Margriet keeps busy creating paintings that are filled with unapologetic color, youth, humor, chaos and the playful fun we sometimes forget as grown ups. Zwart Cafe is a mirror for Margriet's adaptability and speaks mounds for her existence as a unrestricted dreamer serving also as a restaurant, gallery, book exchange and art studio. Her bright and happy art/eat spot is located centrally in Santa Teresa right across Selina North, and next to Villas Solar and a little local soda, Soda Pura Vida. Her art comes in many sizes and shapes and it travels well!

Another local artist and momma that is definitely worth checking out is Pia@aip.pia – her heart & art come in beautiful full & bold colors and speak volumes! Make sure you check it out if you like bold colors like me!
